Jean-Philippe Gentès, B.Pharm., MBA, General Manager

Jean-Philippe GentèsJean-Philippe Gentès got his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the Université Laval in 2002 and an MBA in Pharmaceutical Management from the same university in 2004. He worked as a pharmacist and a substitute pharmacist throughout most of Québec and even traveled to France to work in the pharmaceutical industry at former Sanofi-Synthelabo in 2002. He has been working at Galenova since January 2006 and is responsible for the company’s operations and corporate development. In 2007, Jean-Philippe Gentès won the Arista contest in the category of Young Innovative Leader. The same year he joined the Board of Director of La Cité des Biotechnologie de St-Hyacinthe. In 2008, he became a member of the investment comitee for the FLI/SOLIDE fund for the St-Hyacinthe area (CLD les Maskoutains). In 2009, he became an advisor on the Ordre des Pharmaciens comitee responsible to establish the non-sterile and sterile compounding regulation for the province of Quebec. In 2010, he was named “Pharmacien de Coeur et d’action” in the young practitioner category.

Lyne Ducharme, Director, Finance and Administration

Lyne DucharmeMs. Ducharme has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). She has gained a vast amount of experience in accounting, auditing and in general administration through her work at various corporations, and more specifically at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.

Carole Garceau, Quality Manager

Carole GarceauMs. Garceau got her training in Operations Management and in Biotechnology at University of Montreal. Before joining the company in 2000, she worked for Prometic, Burroughs-Wellcome, Glaxo Wellcome, and Baker Cummings (now Draxis Pharma) in quality assurance and control.

Christine Gendron, Regulatory Affairs Manager

Christine GendronMs. Gendron has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from University of Montreal (1994). Before joining the company in 2002, Ms. Gendron worked for over 5 years at the FRDC in St-Hyacinthe on a number of research and development projects in microbiology.

Marie-Ève Laroche, Chief Technician

Marie-Ève LarocheMs. Laroche joined the company in 2001. She has a Diploma in Technical Assistance in Pharmacy from the “Centre de formation professionnelle du Trait-Carré” in Charlesbourg, Quebec. Ms. Laroche has gained varied experience in preparing compounded prescription products, acquired through her work in community pharmacies. Ms. Laroche leads the team of technicians at Galenova.

Geneviève Pesant, Director, Quality Control and Assurance

Geneviève PesantGeneviève Pesant graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Montreal in 2002 and a Master in Biochemistry from the same institution in 2005. Mrs. Pesant has over 11 years of experience in quality assurance in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics fields. She has worked for Pharmascience, Nuvo Manufacturing (formely Dimethaid) and in compliance with KDC|Knowlton (Les Emballages Knowlton).

Jean-François Dufour, Director, Production

Jean-François DufourMr. Dufour has a Bachelor’s Degree specialized in Chemistry from the Montreal University (1994). Mr. Dufour has worked in different industries since the last 10 years, during which he obtained a solid experience in production management, with the ISO 9000 & GMP standards, as well as miscellaneous knowledge in fields parallel to all production processes. Before joining Galenova in 2007, Mr. Dufour worked as a Production / Research & Development Chemist (1996-2001) and Production Manager (2004-2007) for the SCP SCIENCE company, and as a Production Supervisor / manufacturing-packaging (2001-2004) for Pharmascience. Mr. Dufour is a member of “l’Ordre des Chimistes du Québec”.

Alex Aviles, Director of Sales and Marketing

Alex AvilesMr. Aviles commenced his career at Medisca Pharmaceutique in 1997 as a sales representative for AB, SK, MB before his role as the Canadian Sales Manager and then as a Regional Sales Manager for Medisca in the US. From 2001 to 2007 Alex worked for PCCA (Professional Compounding Centers of America) as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Canada where he helped build the foundation with the inception of the Canadian branch in 2001. During his career he has helped compounding pharmacists grow their business and has held positions responsible for wholesalers, buying groups, North American hospital contracts and has implemented a new product in AB. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Acadia University in 1993 and is a member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. Mr. Aviles joined Galenova in January 2008.

Tony Stanic, Sales Manager, Western Canada

Normand BousquetTony Stanic is a familiar face for many compounding pharmacists across Canada as he has worked with them for many years prior to joining Galenova in 2010. Tony has been actively involved and has attended many seminars and conferences relating to specialized compounding niches all across Canada while at his previous employer, PCCA, where he was hired in 2003 as Canada’s first national account representative. Tony also has experience in the retail and tech sectors as a recruiter and was also involved in a once in a lifetime project with the Vancouver 2010 Olympics prior to joining Galenova. Tony graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1998 at the University of Windsor.

Silvio Cipriano, Sales Manager, Ontario

Silvio CiprianoSilvio Cipriano comes to Galenova Inc. with compounding industry experience since 2001 when he began his compounding career with Medisca USA as an Account Executive handling the States of NY and NJ. During his tenure with Medisca, Silvio became an integral part of their sales force, also occupying the roles of Key Accounts Manager and Business Development Specialist and has helped many compounding pharmacists in the USA over the years grow their business. Mr. Cipriano is very excited at the opportunity of now helping Canadian compounding pharmacists in the Ontario East, Montreal and Maritime regions grow their compounding businesses.

Prior to joining the compounding industry, Silvio had worked in the restaurant industry and the telecommunications industry. Silvio graduated from Vanier College in Social Sciences with a minor in Business Administration and is also a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Sales Advantage Program as well as the Ross Mcbride Personal Performance Center Team Building and Coaching for Manager’s Program.

Niki Sokulski, Sales Manager, Alberta / Saskatchewan

Niki SokulskiNiki Sokulski has worked in the pharmaceutical industry and has extensive knowledge of supply chain management and pharmaceutical supply solutions.

Prior to joining Galenova, Niki worked at McKesson Canada in Edmonton from 1991-2012 and specialized in hospital contract management and purchasing. She was responsible for all national contract management activity for the major Group Purchasing Organizations in Canada including Department of National Defense, Corrections Canada and Health Canada amongst others. Her experience throughout the years has helped Niki foster strong relationships with customers and manufacturers alike.

Niki is looking forward to assisting in the growth and development of compounding pharmacies across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

David Goldsmith - Sales Manager, Ontario West & Atlantic Provinces

David GoldsmithDavid Goldsmith has been a force in servicing compounding pharmacists’ needs in Canada since July 2003. David looks forward to his new challenge at Galenova as a Technical Support Manager working with our experienced CSR’s and Outside Sales team, providing support for all technical questions pharmacies may have. He has established one-of-a-kind customer relationships with pharmacists and compounding techs all across the country and has acquired extensive knowledge of Canada’s unique compounding industry. He has attended many conferences and has extensive one-on-one experience in dealing with clients. He also has previous experience in retail sales and Autism awareness. He graduated with a Business Administration degree at Concordia University in Montreal in 2001.

François Thériault, Sales Manager - Quebec

François ThériaultFollowing positions in pharmacies in the Greater Montreal area, including 5 years as a pharmacy technician at Gentès & Bolduc Pharmacists in Saint-Hyacinthe, Mr. Thériault joined the sales team of Galenova Inc. in 2015, where he oversees the region of Montreal and Laval. Having a great background in sterile and non-sterile compounding, he is able to asses our clients’ needs regarding the acquisition of pharmaceutical chemicals, supplies and equipment, whether for retail or hospital pharmacies. Along with studies in science at Université de Moncton and Université de Montréal, Mr. Thériault holds a diploma in pharmacy technical assistance from the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec.

Alain Désilets, Sales Manager - Quebec

Alain DésiletsRepresentative for Healthcare Professionals for many years now, for several pharmaceutical companies, Alain has gained a great wealth of knowledge over the years servicing this sector. He has worked with pharmacies & doctors and created countless relationships with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Techs, Nurses, General Practitioners and Specialists etc. during this time frame. Alain came on board in March 2016 as a sales manager for most of the Quebec region. His studies at the University of Québec at Trois-Rivières in Business Administration and his previous Healthcare experience will certainly help him provide to his clients the professionalism & service they deserve. Alain’s understanding of the needs of Healthcare Professionals will ensure that he will provide solutions for his customers which in turn will contribute to the welfare of the patients. Alain looks forward to his mission at hand to work closely with pharmacies and doctors in the province of Quebec.
